A mild drama played out today following Chelsea star, Eden Hazard’s exclusion from the Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player (PFA) of the Year list. The Belgian’s  name was included few days ago but was shockingly omitted in the team of the year list, sparking outrage amongst football fans.. Reacting to the news, Chelsea described their player as Influential and then listed his achievements this season, before comparing his goals and assists with Salah, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling’s.

The article headline on their site read. “INFLUENTIAL EDEN HAZARD NOT IN TEAM OF THE YEAR DESPITE OUTSTANDING STATS.

“Hazard is enjoying his best Premier League campaign to date when it comes to goals and assists combined, and indeed he tops the table for that total across the all the players at all 20 clubs,” it reads. One more goal in the remaining three matches and he will have surpassed his 16 scored in the league in 2016/17. His 13 assists is already two greater than his best previous Premier League tally, which came in his first season here in 2012/13.”
