You must had read/heard about the squabble between Pep Guardiola and Yaya Toure and then his agent, Dimitri Seluk’s personal vendetta against the coach. (Read it here, here and here ) Here’s an update on the situation.

Recall Guardiola mentioned that the only condition for accepting the player into the team is if his agent tenders an apology for his foul-mouthed rants against him. The Ivorian who has not made any appearance for the squad this season released an apology statement today. The 33 year-old said.

“I wish to apologise – on behalf of myself and those who represent me – to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past.

“Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there.

“I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club.

“I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club’s history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans.

“On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family.”

His agent has however proved a tough nut to crack and in actual fact wouldn’t be bothered about his client’s latest move. Asked if he has also tendered apologies to the former Barca manager, he fired back in usual fashion.

“First of all I have not apologised. “I said ‘we want peace’. I have not apologised. Apologised for what? He (Yaya) apologised maybe, I don’t know for what.” He told talkSPORT
