Liberian football icon, George Weah as well as World Cup Winner, Marcel Desailly have declared their interest in attending the burial of former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.
“We have been receiving calls from world soccer legends and I can tell you that the likes of Marcel Desailly, George Weah among others have indicated interest to grace the burial. We have promised to get back to them once the final burial arrangements have been concluded by the committee.” Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi said.
Sanusi also revealed the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung will chair committee for the burial which will hold in the last week of July.
“We are tentatively settling for the last weekend of July as Keshi’s burial. The burial committee will soon be constituted and I can tell you that the Hon Minister of Sports and Youth Development will chair the committee. Other members of the committee will be drawn from the NFF, the Delta and Edo States government and members of the Keshi family.” Sanusi added.
